This week at Hotel Utah in San Francisco I finally had the honor of experiencing in person the beautiful & sometimes haunting music of Balmorhea. This instrumental ensemble from Austin, Texas possesses incredible talent – each member experienced and gifted in more than one instrument, switching them up during and between songs. Among others they play guitar, piano, violin, cello, double bass, banjo, drums and melodica, and produce huge music that is at times epic and cinematic, but also moving and breathtaking at the same time. Highly recommended for fans of instrumental music.
